Beverly Shuckman was born in Brooklyn, NY October 9th 1927. Her parents relocated to Louisville, KY and she graduated from Atherton H.S in 1946. She then decided she wanted to be an artist and moved back to NY, Beverly attended Franklin Professional School of Art. She later married and had 3 children. While being a mother Beverly decided to donate her time and efforts into a variety of organizations. She volunteered at the Speed Art Museum as a Docent for over 20 years. She had a great passion for children and decided to start a Pre-school for under-privileged kids called the Market Street Neighborhood House; a Montessori Pre School. Beverly has been a member of The Temple for over 70 years. She was once the President of the Temple Sisterhood. She was also a volunteer for her children’s organizations, including the President of the PTA, A Girl Scout Leader, and a Cub Scout Leader. Beverly was an avid traveler and a lover of all animals. Her favorite past times included spending time with her family and oil painting. Jefferson Manor is beyond blessed and privileged to care for such a beautiful person with such outstanding community leadership.
