Bio

Grant C. Hardin was born on July 7, 1917. His parents wre Alvin and Bessie Hardin. He was born at home in Opossom Hollow in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He had one sister and four brothers. He was married to Georgia Pauline Oliver.

Mr. Hardin was drafted into the Army during World War II. Her served his country in Germany for three years.

When he returned home, he went to work at the Bemberg Corporation, which ironically was a German Rayon Manufacturer who was one of the largest employers every in Carter County. He worked at Bemberg until his retirement.

One of Mr. Hardin’s hobbies is bingo that he attends each week in his sport coat and dress hat.

Mr. Hardin is a very humble man who doesn’t like to say alot about himself but stated: “although I was drafted in the Army, I served by country with pride.”
