Bio

Ms. Lillian Blight was born June 11, 1921. She attended Keystone Secretarial School in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania and Beacon College in Wilmington, Delaware. As a young girl she was involved in the community as the President of the 4-H club, where she helped to cook and sew, and evolved into a bright young leader.

Lillian served in the United States Navy in WWII. She received three ribbons for her service in the war. Ms. Blight also served as Secretary for the Waves National organization for several terms. WAVES stands for Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Services.

As a citizen, Ms. Blight served as head secretary of the legal department at Penn Mutual Fire Insurance Company. She also volunteered at the local library within her community.

Ms. Blight’s favorite pastimes include working on the family genealogy, reading, and knitting. She is most proud of her family and serving her country in the United States Navy.
