Rebecca Oakes

SHC of Greeneville
22 Years of Service, Academic Achievements

Rebecca “Becky” Oakes was born in Kingsport, Tennessee and raised by her mother and grandmother. She has a lot of fond memories of her childhood years. Family gatherings and Sunday dinners at granny’s house. Becky recalls her granny never went to the doctor and treated the whole family with her special home remedies. Becky credits her granny for the reason she pursued a career in nursing. She graduated from Dobbins Bennett High School and obtained her degree in nursing at the Kingsport School of Practical Nursing. Becky began her nursing career at Indian Path Hospital in the Medical Surgical and Cardiac unit. She moved to the Greeneville area in 1996 and has dedicated twenty-two years to Signature Healthcare of Greeneville. In 2012, Becky won the “Nurse of the Year” award and gives the credit to the staff for their ongoing support. In her leisure time, you may find Becky playing a game on her tablet, cross-stitching, feeding the hummingbirds or caring for stray animals. Becky has no children but has helped raise numerous children in her family. She holds a special bond and love for her niece Peyton “Turtle” whom she spends a lot of time with. We honor Becky for her sacrifice, compassion and dedication to her family, friends and community.
