Bio

Mr. Robert Ivey was born in Huntsville, Alabama on October 29, 1933. He attended West Huntsville High School. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Air Force on August 15, 1951. Later that year on December 2nd he married the love of his life, Ruth. They have 3 children: Bruce, Pam, and LeighAnn.
Robert served in Vietnam in 1968. He retired from the Air Force after serving 20 years. His awards in the Air Force include Accommodation, Good Conduct Metal, and the Bronze Star. Mr. Ivey worked as a Law Enforcement Officer at Southern Pacific Railroad Police Department in Los Angeles, California for 10 years. While working with the Police Department he attended P.O.S.T. at Merritt College in Oakland California and then obtained an AA Degree in Law Enforcement at Moorpark College in California.
In the early 1980s, Robert and his family moved from California to Geneva, Georgia where he was a Convenient Store Owner for over 13 years and was a volunteer firefighter. After selling the store, Robert and Ruth bought an RV where they traveled worldwide going to Bluegrass festivals, visiting friends, family and camping. Mrs. Ruth Ivey passed away in April 2017. They were married for 65 years.
Mr. Ivey enjoys deep sea fishing, traveling and camping. Mr. Ivey’s most proud memory is the day he married, Ruth in Tucson, Arizona.
